The Glorious Fools live @ The Marlborough Jazz Festival.
Saturday 19th July @ 11.15am! High Street, Marlborough, Wiltshire, SN8 1AA (Outdoors, somewhere near Waitrose). Free.
Well I now have two gigs with The Glorious Fools this coming weekend. My first shows with them. Before the Ealing Blues Festival on Sunday 20th, we are now announcing a short-notice warm-up. Playing outdoors on the morning of this coming sunny Saturday 19th at The Marlborough Jazz Festival. It's a historic market town, so naturally, we will be found somewhere in the vicinity of Waitrose, on "stage" sometime around elevenses.
As many of you will know, In 1642 Marlborough's peace was shattered by the English Civil War. The Seymours held the Castle for the King but the Town was for Parliament. With his headquarters in nearby Oxford, King Charles had to deal with Marlborough. The King sent Lord Digby to take the town who left Oxford, the head of four hundred horses, 24 November 1642. Now as anyone of my generation knows, Digby was The Biggest Dog In The World. and he laid waste to the town, flattening all the buildings with his waggly tale like a fluffy Godzilla wrecking downtown Tokyo.
So why not share in the history, and help these poor people rebuild their shattered community with your kind and generous support, like we are doing. I mean, what are you, some kind of heartless monsters? Get down there if you have a care. Waitrose even dole out free coffees if you have a card. What more do you want.. blood?!!! Jesus you people make me sick. Anyway, see you there.
